One frame sketchs

One Frame

I have drawn a few sketch's to give a clear direction of what I wanted to create for my final film and for each sketch will have a different tone and style as I progress through each drawing, all of them would take place in a fantasy genre and want to explore further details into the theme to create concepts of the world, creatures, myths and characters. It a type genre that I'm fond of even if their is a immense amount of other media that have come out from the past few years but it something that I would desire to make my version within the genre and want to explore ideas that I haven't thought of or have a few ideas to expand upon and develop for this project.

Frame 1

The first sketch is a very basic one, where the scourer is meditating in a wide open land with a few hills as it is it not bad, it deliver the tone and a slight hit of the what kind of world it is and letting know what the character is doing and a bit about what the character is like. The sketch look nice and simple to read the tone is good with it wide open space developing a sense of peace, staging the frame of the character finding a place of tranquillity to focus on controlling his power telling about the boy being a bit wise but is training to becoming a much better wizard.

Frame 2

The second sketch is more on the bland side as it look fine but lacks any sense of personality, where I wanted to create a sense of mystery of the character leaning against a ruin pillars giving a hit that this person may have some connections to this area and possibly the place up ahead and would be in the same condition as the pillars are. Having cover in a cloak is another add to that mystery and would arise a few fragments of curiosity. Though it barely succeeds in delivering the tone because of how flat the perspective, while the bit of details on the pillars, road and stones look nice but don't add much to the frame. If I were to change the frame the first thing would be the angle of the frame having it be above the character and the pillar with a slight tilt being able to view the ruins and destruction of the town or having the boy to sit on high place creating a distance between the audience and the character as it come across as if the person want to be left alone surround by pills of demolished buildings still the same tone with much more personality to it by conveying the sense of isolation and mystery.

Frame 3

This one is much more improve then the previous two as it does a much better job of delivering the sense of curiosity, having the character sitting from a high place on top of a strange pillar standing within a lake along with being in forest and house that is not far away but tell that this kid live their as it home or staying at abandon house for a few days. I played around with the top down perspective with having the character, the pillar and the location immersing the audience with the character being at a very high place, with the trees, house and lake all being small sizes take a huge part with the sense of height. Also having the character looking above displaying that little spark wonder in his mind, thinking what is beyond the sky and the forest. Making the boy to seem a bit adventurous by climbing to a high place and his clothing indicating that he is poor from some of the tears of his cloths mainly from his sleeves from both his shirt and trousers.

Frame 4

The fourth one is where I added a bit of comedy to this next scene of having a character trying to traverse through a path of small pillars in a river, he seems to be having trouble getting through and doesn't seem fit for this type environment and must have gotten himself lost during his travel or training. The boy seem to be a wizard in training, judging by his clothing it seems that he is a mid class level but not is one of the higher ups yet but still follows the role of an apprentices, it also look that he more of indoor person and has a slight interest with books but is vague considering he is only holding one book and possible be a sketch book containing some of his drawings or a collection of odd items in that book. The perspective again does help a lot within the frame and support the the bit of intensity of the character possibly falling off along with the joyful comedic expression the of the person trying very hard not to fall and is another sketch that I'm glad with the results but may need some adjustments to the proportions of the character and clothing.

Frame 5

The fifth frame show of a thief who seem to be running from something or someone and would later loose focus of where he's heading and is meet with an unfortunate drop, following the same comedic tone with the previous frame and while not much is happening within the scene but with subtle hints of the few small rocks falling behind and the lines that present the character's shock realisation of running off from the hill and fall down along with his expressions adding another layer to the shock. The cloths give a small bit of detail about his situation that he must have gotten himself into something that way over his head and barely making it out with only a few tears upon his cloths. Though not as good as the other two previous frames but is slightly better than the first two.
